Join your neighbours from St. John’s Society for the inaugural Community Plant Sale in St. John’s Church garden on Sunday, 17th May, at 11 am!

We’ve been working hard to bring on some gorgeous cuttings and seedlings. They’re all plants that have thrived in our gardens, so they should do well in yours too! Come and meet the wonderful Becky McKevitt who will be selling her top quality, couldn’t be more local, seeds, vegetable seedlings, salad boxes, edible flowers and we’ll all be ready to share our experience and knowhow.

Every garden is different but there will be gardeners there who have been gardening in the area for decades. We can share our tips on how to create a beautiful, productive and wildlife-friendly space in your back yard or even windowsill. We are proud to offer a huge variety of local plants, cultivated by community members and perfectly adapted to our climate. Whether you’re looking to fill flower beds with vibrant blooms, start a new herb garden, or grow your own food, you’ll find what you need. Becky will be offering a huge range of vegetable seedlings and leafy greens while St. John’s residents will have perennial shrubs and flowers that support local biodiversity.

Everything sold is locally grown, ensuring you take home resilient plants that are ready to flourish. The plant sale is about more than commerce; it’s a hub for sharing expertise.

Knowledgeable local gardeners will be on hand throughout the morning to offer advice, answer questions, and swap tips on everything from starting seeds to composting techniques. Come ready to learn how to make your garden thrive all season long.

A key feature of the day is the plant swap. Bring along your healthy, excess cuttings, seedlings, or divisions from your own garden and trade them for something new. It’s a sustainable, fun, and free way to diversify your planting palette and give your extra greenery a new home.

Don’t miss this chance to celebrate spring, sustainability, and community spirit. This will be SO much more fun and a heck of a lot cheaper than The Chelsea Flower Show!

We all look forward to meeting you at St. John’s Church garden on Sunday 17th May.
