On 21/12/23, committee member Paul Middleton met with Darren Gotch of Lewisham Highways to discuss traffic in the St. John’s area.  Key points as follows:

  • Traffic Analysis: Traffic tubes shall be installed on Friendly Street and St Johns Vale during January 2024 to measure vehicle movments, traffic volume and speed and vehicle type.
  • School Streets: Further streets in the area are being reviewed including Albyn Road where St Stephens C of E Primary School is located.
  • Bins: Bins on Friendly Street currently under review and proposals will be shared in January 2024.
  • General Communication/Engagement: Commucation between Lewisham Highways and local residents to increase once the Sustainable Streets consulation has been completed (Q1 2024).  Community talk session proposed at the Brookmill pub to understand residents’ issues.
