There was enthusiasm on local Whatsapp groups so we offered to organise the Christmas Windows again this year. And there have been record sign ups!
There is zero pressure in terms of “form” for these windows – 6pm – lights can just be switched on…some people have a beautiful Christmas Tree and others go all out with decoration, one household is known for their live advent performances!
You can offer mince pies, mulled wine or cups or tea or nothing but smiles and a round of applause. Some nights are five mins of neighbourly love and some run over an hour. It is a wonderful way to meet people if you are new to the area.
There are also two special nights (with guaranteed treats and singing) at The Brookmill Pub on 1st December and 6th of December at St John’s Church, SE8 (slightly earlier at 4.30pm.
